Overview
The Royal Marines Charity (RMA) is the central pillar of the Royal Marines Family, providing lifelong support, advice, and friendship to serving and retired Royal Marines, their families, and those with close links to the Corps.
Its mission is to serve the needs of the Royal Marines family "through life" by sustaining the Corps' traditions and esprit de corps, and generating funds to provide the best possible charitable support.
Key areas of support include:
Health and Wellbeing: This covers a range of assistance, including mental health support, respite breaks, and help with alcohol intervention and dependency issues. They also offer specialist advice on Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and War Pensions.
Grants and Benevolence: Providing financial assistance to individuals and their dependant families in need, including help with debt and funeral costs.
Employment & Education: Offering transition support for those leaving the service, careers advice and guidance, and support for jobseekers, veterans, and spouses.
Recovery Pathway: Dedicated help for the wounded and seriously injured personnel.
Comradeship and Community: Fostering the unique bond of the Corps family through the Royal Marine Association Support Volunteers (RMASV) who provide practical and emotional support, as well as maintaining traditions and promoting esprit de corps.
The charity operates under the strong belief that "Once a Royal Marine, Always a Royal Marine."
